the task
FUEL was tasked with launching PayPal’s global AI strategy through a hybrid experience that would excite and empower employees worldwide. The goal was to demystify AI and make it accessible for everyone, not just the developers. Under the theme “We Are AI Native”, the event needed to highlight real-world applications, spark meaningful engagement, and showcase PayPal’s role at the forefront of AI innovation. Crucially, it had to inspire every employee to see themselves as active participants in an AI-driven future.


the experience
Hosted across five event spaces and livestreamed globally, the two-day summit blended keynotes, hands-on labs, immersive demos and partner showcases. Employees explored AI through 17 interactive labs, talks from 10 industry experts, and direct access to partners like OpenAI, Nvidia and Google. A standout feature was a custom built podcast studio - a live content engine capturing “post-match” speaker interviews straight after their sessions, giving PayPal a rich bank of authentic, future-facing content.
the outcome
The AI Summit reached over 6,000 employees worldwide, with 700 attending in person and 5,000+ tuning in remotely. The mix of high-impact talks, interactive moments and direct access to global partners shifted AI from a buzzword into something tangible and empowering. The podcast interviews extended the experience beyond the two days, fuelling long-tail content and internal storytelling. Most importantly, the event reframed AI as part of PayPal’s everyday culture, helping teams of all kinds see themselves not just as users of AI, but creators and collaborators in shaping its future.
