Paramount Pictures Ireland approached FUEL with a bold ambition: to create a red-carpet premiere for Gladiator II that would rival the scale and spectacle of Leicester Square - right in the heart of Dublin city. The brief wasn’t just to host a screening, but to design a deeply immersive experience that transported fans, press and VIPs into the epic world of ancient Rome. The event needed to drive media buzz, social sharing, and significant user-generated content while elevating the film’s launch profile across Ireland. It also had to handle high guest volumes, unpredictable weather, tight build schedules and complex logistics, all while maintaining a flawless attendee journey and premium aesthetic. Above all, it needed to prove that Ireland could not only host large-scale cinematic moments, but lead them, setting a new benchmark for what film premieres can look and feel like on home ground. Our strategic approach was built on three key goals: cinematic immersion, media impact, and operational excellence.

the experience

Dublin's Lighthouse Cinema was transformed into a Roman arena for the Gladiator II premiere. An epic set with marble-effect columns, flame braziers, and rich drapery immersed guests in the film's world. A large LED screen provided a dynamic backdrop as a live string quartet performed the haunting score, shifting the energy to cinematic reverence.

Every detail was curated for maximum visual impact. FUEL, working with Paramount and city authorities, delivered the event under tight constraints, managing all logistics from wind-resistant rigging to fan safety. The result was a bold, iconic, and internationally worthy red carpet - a first for Ireland on this scale.

the outcome

The premiere was a landmark success, drawing over 700 guests and 500+ fans who queued for hours to see Paul Mescal. It became one of Ireland’s most interactive premieres, flooding social media with user-generated content and creating a massive ripple effect of awareness.

Widespread international media coverage hit a key KPI for Paramount, who called it “the best premiere they’d seen in Ireland” with a “true Leicester Square vibe.” They praised the world-class production and seamless delivery. The event proved Ireland can host Hollywood-level moments, and that FUEL is the team with the creative vision and flawless execution to lead them.
