the task

To build Ireland’s first dedicated family festival and make it a permanent fixture on the national cultural calendar. FUEL identified a gap in the market for a music and arts festival that didn’t just accommodate children, but celebrated the family unit in all its forms. From the start, our vision was to deliver something creatively rich, operationally robust, and emotionally unforgettable, not a scaled-down adult festival, but a fully reimagined experience from the ground up. We were responsible for developing every element of the brand and event, from creative direction to logistics, programming, partnerships and content. The ambition was bold: to create a flagship family event that could scale nationally, attract best-in-class sponsors and collaborators, and go toe-to-toe with Ireland’s biggest festivals, while always staying true to its playful heart.

the experience

Kaleidoscope Festival is now Ireland’s largest and most imaginative festival experience designed specifically for families. Set against the stunning backdrop of Russborough House, it’s a vibrant, immersive three-day escape filled with music, creativity, and connection, where every detail has been designed through a family lens. From music stages and sensory zones to wellness villages, baby rave tents and teen hangouts, the site is a patchwork of discovery and joy. In 2025, we welcomed 18,000 attendees, landing us as Ireland’s third-largest music festival. Every element is managed end-to-end by FUEL, in partnership with some of the biggest names in Irish live entertainment: Festival Republic, MCD, and Live Nation. Our presenting partner, Glenveagh, plays a key role in bringing added value to our audiences through meaningful activations and shared values. This is more than a festival, it’s a weekend of “firsts” for many families, and a masterclass in experience design at scale.

the outcome

From first thought to breakout success, Kaleidoscope has become a leading light in Ireland’s festival landscape. With sell-out years, increased brand interest, and a devoted returning audience, Kaleidoscope is now a cultural staple and commercial powerhouse. Our 2025 edition saw 18,000 attendees, a record-breaking weekend, and a seamless delivery of over 100 curated performances and activities, all crafted and managed by FUEL. We’ve turned brand partners into key storytellers, helped launch first-time experiences for thousands of children, and proven that family audiences are hungry for more than soft play and face paint. For FUEL, Kaleidoscope is our own flagship and a powerful showcase of what we do best: combining bold creative with rock-solid execution, building festivals with heart, and reimagining what an audience-first event can be.
